Saying “I DO”

These are cookies from an order that I did today. Congratulations Lorena and Gino!…Yes the tag says Gio lol, my understanding: G I and O, the way it was supposed to be spelled: GINO lol, but I did fix it and managed to deliver them correctly. Customers where happy 🙂

I have been married for almost 6 years ( August 25 is our anniversary ), and I couldn’t be any happier. I met my husband Johnny in high school, but I didn’t like him then lol. He was skinny, tall, and into cars and auto clubs. He used to wear this big necklace with the VW logo on it hahahahaha. After I graduated ( 1998, I was 16 then)  I didn’t see him at all, until mid year of 2001. A couple of friends and I went dancing, and in the middle of the floor we see this tall, light blonde wavy hair, blue-eyed man dancing merengue with 2 girls. We couldn’t believe it was him lol, specially since you don’t see many caucasian males dancing the way he was. And he looked like a hottie! On March 7, 2003 we officially started dating. I was the happiest little Peruvian girl ever. In October of that year he came along with me to Peru (beautiful country in South America), and almost gave my father a heart attack because he was not expecting him. My cousins thought I paid him to come with me lol, but no…he was mine to keep :). In November I moved in with him, and in December he surprised me. It was christmas day, my family and his family were together to celebrate his aunts engagement, when all of a sudden he comes out all teary. He started talking, but I couldn’t understand what he was saying. He took out a box ( i stared at my mother right away lol), and he asked me if I would marry him. I was shocked that no one told me about, at least a clue or something lol, and I was happy to say “YES!”. My Johnny is my best friend, my partner in crime, my biggest critic, my biggest fan. He pushes me to be and do the best I can. He has changed me a lot, he is my rock ( as my sister Maria would say), he is and will always be my everything. He has given me two beautiful children, whom I love with all my heart and soul. He has taught me what patience really means, and that we shouldn’t go to sleep being mad. I want to grow old with him, and go every weekend to atlantic city and be able to tell that young man or young lady sitting at the table ” I have been married for more than 50 years” ( I love it when I meet people who have been married that long). Trust, communication, understanding, appreciating and respecting each other, loving and letting be loved, saying ” I LOVE YOU” every day, kissing each other more than just 3 times a week….that is what makes my marriage work. It is a partnership where we both want to do everything possible to make each day a better day..to make our love grow stronger. Sometimes at the end of the day, when my kids are sleeping and my husband is snoring lol, I get up and take a look at them while they sleep, and thank god everyday, that they are in my life. I’m going to go hug them now 🙂 ….love is what keeps me alive 🙂
